Power Back Door cannot be Operated Using Any Switch

DESCRIPTION

When the power back door cannot be operated using any switch, one of the following may be the cause: 1) initialization of the power back door ECU, or a malfunction in the 2) power back door touch sensor circuit, 3) power back door main switch circuit, 4) back door closer system, 5) meter/gauge system, 6) main body ECU (instrument panel junction block LH), or 7) power back door drive unit (power back door ECU).

INITIALIZE POWER BACK DOOR ECU

(a) Check that the power back door drive unit (power back door ECU) can be initialized DOOR / HATCH: POWER BACK DOOR SYSTEM: INITIALIZATION (2008 Sequoia) .

CHECK POWER BACK DOOR SYSTEM

(a) Check the power back door system operation.

OK:

Power back door system operates normally.

OK

3.

CHECK BACK DOOR CLOSER SYSTEM

(a) Check the back door closer system operation DOOR / HATCH: BACK DOOR CLOSER SYSTEM: OPERATION CHECK (2008 Sequoia) .

OK

4.

CHECK COMBINATION METER

(a) Check the A/T shift position indicator operation.

(b) Check that the speedometer indicates 0 mph when the vehicle is stopped and the engine idling.

5.

CHECK DTC OUTPUT

(a) Check for the DTCs DOOR / HATCH: POWER BACK DOOR SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR (2008 Sequoia) .

READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List /

(e) According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.

9.

INSPECT POWER BACK DOOR MAIN SWITCH


(a) Remove the power back door main switch DOOR / HATCH: POWER BACK DOOR MAIN SWITCH: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia) .

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

(c) Reinstall the power back door main switch.

10.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN SWITCH - BACK DOOR ECU AND BODY GROUND)


(a) Disconnect the H69 switch connector.

(b) Disconnect the O30 ECU connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
